Stargazing at Camping Parc de la Brenne at Domaine de Puylagorge in Central France.
At Camping Parc de la Brenne and Domaine de Puylagorge in the Indre region of France, you can enjoy the beautiful nature, including the night sky.
On balmy evenings, lounging back with a glass of wine in front of the tent is a delightful experience, especially with the stunningly beautiful starry skies you’ll see here. Due to the lack of light pollution at the campsite, you can admire the sky in all its glory, the perfect pastime for the amateur stargazer in you.
There are a few things you can do to make the most of your stargazing evening. Find the darkest spot on the campsite; this is important because the less ambient light there is, the more you’ll be able to see. Let your eyes adjust to the darkness for at least fifteen minutes, especially during midsummer, when you may see at least one shooting star this way. If you want to impress the family, try to spot Cassiopeia, the W-shaped constellation made up of five bright stars.
Want to discover more constellations? You can purchase a Vacation Planisphere for Southern Europe, a small, rotatable star chart that will show you exactly what’s visible in the French sky on any given day of the year. You can also download an app, such as Skyview (iPhone/Android), Star Chart (iPhone/Android), or Skysafari (iPhone/iPad), which will tell you precisely what you’re seeing.
For those who enjoy taking photos, it’s possible to photograph the night sky with a camera where you can set the shutter speed and use a tripod. Opt for a long exposure time (30 sec.) and an aperture of f5.6 or lower, and you’ll quickly capture a spectacular image.
In short, there’s plenty to discover and enjoy during an evening of stargazing at our campsite. Come and experience this unique and entertaining experience!
